Product Overview
The Laser Trackball Assembly with Over-Voltage Protection is a trackball that is mainly used in Ultrasound and other Digital Imaging (DI) healthcare systems. It is an assembly that consists of a laser-type trackball with Printed Circuit Board (PCD) and a cable. It is mounted on the operator panel of the machine. It communicates with the host computer over USB through a hub built into the operator panel electronics. Over USB, the trackball position data and the status of the mouse buttons are communicated via a standard Microsoft driver. The cable is necessary, as the trackball replaces a previous design that had an integral cable for connecting to the mouse buttons. In addition, the PCB is being revised to include overvoltage transient protection for the microcontroller and a navigation sensor. This change is made in order to ensure protection against transient over-voltage events up to 30kV, and protection against reverse polarity supply connection and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) transient protection. Both the trackball and the cable are safely packaged with adequate protection to survive a drop test. As this works on the LASER, the integrated circuit with optics take continual snapshot of ball surface and how the features in these snapshots move is used to detect the ball motion. This product is specifically used in machines such as Voluson E10, Vivid 4, LOGIQ A5, Vivid E9, LOGIQ E9, Vivid S6, Venue 40 etc., It comes with the smooth finishing without any burrs, sharp edges, surface blemishes, sink marks and flash marks.
