Product Overview
This program discusses the basic principles of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). To continue to expand your knowledge and understanding of complicated protocols and applications in MRI, it is essential to fully grasp the basic concepts of MRI physics. In this program, we cover various topics in basic MR physics, image weighting, image contrast and signal-to-noise, imaging parameters and trade-offs, pulse sequences, and much more. At the end of this program, you will be able to:Â 1. Review the basic principles of MRI and how it works. 2. Define the Larmour frequency and how it relates to varied field strengths. 3. Describe the radio frequency (RF) coil concept and the effect it has on MRI quality. 4. Discuss how longitudinal and transverse magnetization relate to image quality and how they relate to various pulse sequences. 5. Review the various MR parameters that affect image quality, such as, signal-to-noise, contrast, resolution and more.
