Product Overview
Interpreting and using research and evidence-based practice in clinical practice helps to ensure best practices and promotes positive outcomes for patients; however, it is often difficult for nurses to devote time to these activities as the daily demands of practice often take precedence. This program reviews key strategies for implementing evidence-based practice and research in clinical practice. Information in this program is valuable for hospitals intending to improve their clinical practice and those interested in achieving the Magnet® honor. Content presented includes concepts on the critical or fundamental thought processes that occur as a clinician develops ideas. Strategies for integrating evidence-based practice and research initiatives in nursing are discussed. Examples of ongoing initiatives being conducted at a variety of clinical settings are also highlighted. By the end of this program, the participants should be able to • Discuss the relationship between critical thinking, research, and evidence-based practice. • Review the process of translating evidence-based practice into practical clinical application. • Identify strategies for implementing evidence-based practice and research in clinical practice. • List examples of using evidence-based practice and research in acute and critical care.
