Product Overview
Lab tests are done frequently to help with diagnosis, assessment, and management of patients. Lab reports often indicate high or low values, and understanding the meaning of the values and implications related to the patient’s condition, history, and other factors is necessary to provide optimum care. As nurses, it is essential to have a thorough understanding about the lab tests and interpretation of their results in order to provide quality patient care. By the end of this program, the participants should be able to • Explain the elements of lab value interpretation. • Define key terms related to lab values. • Identify nursing responsibilities related to specimen collection and lab interpretation. • Discuss results and implications for several common lab tests, including complete blood count with differential, comprehensive metabolic panel, and urinalysis.
