Product Overview
Biomolecules are organic compounds with specific shapes and dimensions present in every living organism. These compounds are made up of six elements: hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, sulphur, and phosphorus. Approximately 90% of the dry weight in the human body is made of up the combination of these elements. They are generally asymmetric and their chemical properties are defined by their functional group. Besides these elements, functionally important elements, such as sodium, calcium, and potassium are found in cells. After completing this course, you will be able to: 1. explain the composition, functions, and metabolization of different types of biomolecules.
